Frank and Burt – Chris Naylor-Ballesteros

Best friends Frank and Burt love to play hide and seek but Bert isn’t so good at hiding. That means Frank ALWAYS wins. Is winning everything? Perhaps Frank will be a good friend and give Burt a chance this time…

Frank and Bert is a heartwarming, funny story around friendship and competition. Perfect for youngsters who struggle with either losing or needing to win every time, this picture book shows that it’s not always winning that’s important. My 6 yr old and 3 yr old loved reading this and looking at the beautiful illustrations. I want Frank’s hat too! From a teaching point of view, not only is this perfect for PSHE but the counting is great for Maths too.

Musings of a 6 year old: I think that it’s a funny, cheeky story because Bert was cheating at the end and it was kind of Fred to let Bert win.

Suggested reading age: 4+
