When this incredible proof package arrived from Walker Books, I knew I’d be swept away by its wonder and thorough world-building and I can confirm, the first in the Magicalia series, Race of Wonders, is an addictive read. If you love Skandar, Impossible Creatures and Fantastic Beasts then Magicalia is an essential purchase: Race of Wonders is simply mesmerising. I love that anything is possible in this world and it’s fuelled by our emotions – right from the start where there’s an abduction and a giant purple hamster with a rhino’s horn tearing the house apart, you know you’re in for a wild ride.
